Meet the Parents

It’s me: Ayla Xuân Chi

I am a proudly Black and Vietnamese, Queer and Trans, shamanic artist who thrives in the intersections of creativity and divinity.

  • As a writer, creator, and healing justice practitioner, I’m Ayla. I use they/he pronouns!

  • As the host of the variety show Planet Muthadaddy, I’m Muthadaddy.

  • As a musician who aims to queer the gospel, I’m Reverend Le.

I wasn’t always this connected & grounded in my purpose.

There was a time when I was constantly searching—oscillating from job to job, from burnout to breakdown, craving purpose but unsure how to embody what I knew deep in my bones:

that I was meant to heal, to lead, and to remember.

I come from a long line of spiritual workers, storytellers, and revolutionaries. And like so many Queer and Trans Black folks, I had to navigate through systems of harm that taught me to suppress my truth. I was taught to pour into everyone except myself. I was taught to beg for love and accept crumbs. I never knew what it felt like to stand in my power, from a genuine place and not a performative place. It took deep grief, initiation, and remembering to come home to myself—and to my calling.

Now, I guide others along their own paths of remembrance.

I’m the founder of Planet Muthadaddy, a spiritual wellness platform rooted in ancestral reverence, aligned creativity practice, and community care. Through energy work, ancestral channeling, and creative strategy, I help Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous Leaders of Colour, artists, and healers reclaim their power by reclaiming their history in a material, embodied way.

With a decade long background in restorative justice, arts education, and movement work—plus experience guiding high-level clients including GLAAD, the NAACP, and ACLU—I bring both spiritual depth and practical rigor to my sessions and offerings. I’ve taught thousands of students across classrooms, stages, and healing circles. My work has been published in American Theatre, The Dramatist, and OUTFRONT Magazine. I’ve also had the privilege of advocating for Queer and Trans rights across panels, podcasts, and radio since 2014.

I believe in Real Luxury. The embodied state of receiving deep care and facilitating the act of through right relationship with one another, our Earth, and our ancestors. The more you return to your own knowing, the more you magnetise the people, opportunities, and impact you were built for.

Real Luxury empowers intergenerational impact.

This work isn’t about escaping—it’s about returning.
